Real aerodynamics, sized for a hand launch

The same numbers a sailplane designer works with — neutral point, tail volume, glide polar — applied to things you fold, cut and throw.

Five airfoils, seven materials

Flat plate to reflexed section; a sheet of A4 to carbon-reinforced balsa. Each one changes the mass, the drag build-up and where the best glide sits.

Eighteen live figures

Wing area, aspect ratio, MAC, neutral point, static margin, tail volume, trim CL, L/D max, best glide speed, minimum sink, Reynolds number — recalculated on every change, with a plain-English caption under each.

Flight Test with weather

Launch speed, angle and height, headwind, crosswind, altitude. Four launch styles from a gentle release to a high-start tow. Replay the side view, scrub the chart, and get a verdict: Clean Glide, Phugoid Porpoising, Stalled and Dropped, Nosed In, Spiral Away or Wind Carried.

Design Coach & Flight Debrief

Ask why it porpoises and get one change to try, not a lecture. Flight Debrief reads the replay and sends the fix straight to Drafting. Works offline too — the bench's own rule engine answers, shorter but never absent.

Ground School

Fifteen lessons from wing loading to why the foreplane must stall first, each with a quiz that explains every wrong answer — and uses your own airframe's figures as the worked example.

Hangar, compare and build briefs

Save every airframe, lay up to five side by side on one glide polar, and take on build briefs — a brief closes itself the moment a saved airframe satisfies every line of it. Nothing to submit, nothing to tick. Evening reminders take yesterday's draft outside; a weekly review reads seven days of throws.
